A Chairde,
Just a quick update to say that we were delighted with the Launch of the Irish Froebel Network last Saturday. A special word of thanks to those of you that joined us for the wonderful presentations by Susan McCarthy, Laura Thornton and Mia Treacy. We were delighted to be also joined at the conference by honorary members, Cairde Froebel, including Niamh Bhreathnach, Brian Tubbert, Áine Kirwan, Eamon O’Kane, Marion Brennan and Rebecca Carroll. Cairde Froebel were nominated for their dedication to Froebelian practice in their working lives.
During the next academic year, two events will take place: Froebel Researchers Sharing Research and Froebel Practitioners Sharing Practice. Dates and details to follow.
Currently, this website for the IFN is being developed to share resources, research and Froebelian Practice. It will contain a dedicated archive for books, articles and literature on Froebel, along with presentations from conferences and podcasts of interviews with Froebel practitioners. We don’t have a launch date just yet, as we are currently populating the website, but hope to have it up and running by September.
On Friday 25 and Saturday 26 June, our current M Ed students will be sharing insights into their research topics. On the attached poster you will find Zoom links to the presentations. Feel free to attend. However, please do not share the Zoom link with outside parties. You will see that there are a wide range of topics from Primary and Early Years settings, and it will be a great opportunity to share practice.
Beir Bua,
Séamie Ó Néill
